Brad Slade is an author based in Texas. Fueled by coffee, mixtapes, and frustration.

I write worlds. Some burned. Some survived. All remembered.

A Gen X survivor of silence, grief, and VHS static, I craft stories that dig into the marrow, fiction that bleeds, essays that punch, fanfics that dare to finish what others abandoned. I grew up on Asimov’s long view of humanity, Starlin’s cosmic defiance, and Stephen King’s refusal to look away from the dark corners of the human mind. My work moves through mythic fantasy, science fiction, post-collapse memoir, and reimagined continuations of epic sagas like A Song of Ice and Fire and Stargate.

I’ve recently launched my original series, The Broken Legacy Saga, a story I’ve been carrying for decades and am finally putting down in writing. It grew out of long memory, unfinished questions, and the quiet realization that some stories don’t fade, they wait to be told.

My nonfiction book, Help Yourself… Or Don’t, is a raw, poetic field manual for anyone raised on sitcoms and sarcasm, searching for truth in the wreckage of burnout and broken promises. It’s not a self-help book… it’s a last-chance mixtape for those still standing.

Whether I’m reconstructing Westeros, continuing the Stargate program, or building entirely new realities from the ruins of this one, I try to write with purpose: not to escape, but to confront.
